Experimenting With Flour…
At my Sunday brunch gals request, I made yet another batch of Chocolate Chip Cookies.  First batch for the blog however there have been many others before.  I’m attempting to create the perfect chocolate chip cookie.  But what comprises it?   Lots of internet research led me to believe that flour could be the key.  Trial and error have led me to believe otherwise.  The look is perfection but the consistency is too much like that of a muffin and the taste may be a bit heavy or thick.
But don’t get me wrong.  They were gobbled up. (thanks Sharon and Jessica!)
Todays Recipe:
1 & 1/2 sticks salted butter
1/2 c. sugar
1c brown sugar
2 eggs
1&1/2 c. tsp. vanilla
1&1/2 c. pastry flour
1&1/2 c. bread flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1&1/2 tsp salt
In the Kitchen Aid Mixer: combine sugars and butter.  Add eggs one at a time then add the vanilla.  In a medium bowl combine dry ingredients.  Pour dry ingredients into wet and mix away.  Add chocolate chips.  Bake at 350 degrees until golden and gooey on the inside.

The Beginning

In my quest to make the perfect chocolate chip cookie, decorate, clean, and help others make their house a home, I find myself in this exhausting New York City creating a blog.  A place to inspire or just record my ever turning mind.  While on a budget… a small… oh so very small budget, where the “under $100” section in a magazine still seems like a stretch, I can’t help but know deep down that shopping for my home is a priority.  Over half of my income goes toward the rent of my solo living life in an attempt to dodge roommates who move my throw pillows, put the toilette paper roll upside down on the wall, and move perfectly arranged centerpieces.  Although slightly neurotic, I strive to create peace through my living space.  Peace through comfort, food, music, and overall ambience.  A house needs to engage all of your senses to really feel that you’ve found your home.
